About the Campaign
Over 200 members of the Maximal Concepts family (staff at Brickhouse, Blue, Limewood, Stockton and more) are Nepalese, so we have very strong ties to this community. Though it’s been a few years since the devastating Gorkha earthquake in 2015, Nepal is still deeply in recovery – a vast portion of the population live in extreme terrain, and political instability has meant that education has taken a back seat, inhibiting Nepal's youth from progressing their education.
As a team, we set ourselves the goal to raise HKD$390,000 to help the village of Arnakot build a new school. So far, we’ve raised about $173K, and hope that one more event will help tip us over the edge before we present a final cheque to the charity (as well as the school’s future students & teachers) in Nepal.
What this new school means:
Hundreds of local children could attend this school instead of undertaking a 6-hour round-trip walk to their remote secondary schools. Girls, in particular, would remain and complete secondary school instead of dropping out after reaching middle school.
